Public Action Roundtables
|

|
Local citizen groups and organizations participate in a series of debates and discussions with public officials and specialists to propose and develop a public agenda. Today, civil society’s participation in public matters is forcing a reconsideration of the decision making process, and the planning mechanism employed for urban development. This cultural sea change has sought more inclusion for social networks and collective interests in planning initiatives. The roundtable format for “Public Actions” was introduced for COM:PLOT 2009 and dealt with three specific areas: metropolitanization, mobility, and public space and established commitments with elected officials for the ‘public agenda’ to be included in the budget for the following fiscal year. |
